SCHEMES
The Low carbon buildings programme, managed by EST and funded by the DTI, administer the grants for England and Wales.
In Scotland, homeowners can gain grants of 30% of the total installation cost via the Scottish Community and Householder Renewables Initiative (SCHRI) which is funded by the Scottish Executive and managed by Energy Saving Trust.
Solar Twin Ltd is an accredited installer within the new scheme's predecessor Clear Skies programme and our system is registered as a recognised product within the programme. SCHRI shares the same accreditation process as the Low carbon buildings programme so we can also eligible to supply grant funded installations in Scotland.
Qualifying for the grant is straight forward and NOT means tested. We work with you to ensure this application process is as simple and easy as possible. We draft your application forms for you.
Community, organisations, schools and the public sector and businesses can apply for grants under the Low carbon buildings programme programme - There will be two streams of grants available:
-
Stream one - this applies to smaller projects for home owners and community groups among others. Click here for a stream one householders application form.
- Stream two - this applies to projects which include businesses, community organisations and the public sector. We will have more news on stream two in July.
The SCHRI offers the same kind of organisations up to £10,000 for feasibility studies and up to £100,000 for capital projects - please call 0845 1300 137 for more information.
How do I apply for an installation with the domestic grant?
Here are the five easy steps...
1. Obtain a quote here (and a pre-drafted grant application form) from Solartwin. This process takes about ten interesting minutes by phone. We can quote instantly. In terms of mailing the necessary paperwork to you, we aim to get your written quote, plus your 90%-completed grant application form to you within three working days.
2. Order your Solartwin (your order is conditional on having your grant approved) using the freepost envelope we send you
3. Get your grant approved. Sign the grant application form, after checking it over, amending it if necessary and filling in your personal details, including saying into whose bank account you want the grant funds to be paid. Post it off, again in the envelope we provide. From posting your grant application form to the arrival of your approval letter usually takes 5-10 days. Even when your grant is approved, you may still cancel, with a full refund, within seven days.
4. Have your Solartwin solar water heating system installed - this normally takes less than a day.
5. Claim your grant! Once your Solartwin is installed and paid for, we post you your "commissioning certificate". You post this off to claim your grant, as a cashback. Payment, from government funds, goes straight into your bank account, normally within a few days.
